Miriam Slikhanian is a licensed clinical psychologist from Lebanon. She holds a BA in Psychology from the Lebanese American University, an MSc in Clinical Psychology from Goldsmiths, University of London, and an MSc in Neuropsychology from the Lebanese University. She has a broad range of experience working with adults facing various mental health challenges, including depression and anxiety.
Miriam has worked as a clinical psychologist in international NGOs as well as in private practice. Her expertise includes treating adults and adolescents with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, and depression. She also has extensive experience supporting individuals through trauma, grief, interpersonal conflicts, and life transitions. Her primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and she is also certified as an Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) provider by Teachers College, Columbia University, and the International Society of Interpersonal Psychotherapy (ISIPT).
Having worked with diverse cultures and populations, Miriam is mindful of cultural differences and sensitive to diversity among individuals. She believes that the key to successful psychotherapy is being listened to and understood, collaboratively conceptualizing the problem, setting clear goals, and selecting appropriate treatment interventions within a positive and trusting therapeutic alliance.
