Miriam Slikhanian is a licensed clinical psychologist from Lebanon. She holds a BA in psychology from the Lebanese American University, an MSc in clinical Psychology from Goldsmith’s university of London, and an MSc in Neuropsychology from the Lebanese
university. She has a wide range of experience in working with adults presenting with different mental health problems including depression and anxiety. Her experience includes working as a
clinical psychologist in international NGOs as well as in private practice. Her areas of expertise include treating adults and adolescents with Obsessive-Compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety
disorders, and depression. She also has extensive experience in working with individuals who have passed through traumas, grief, interpersonal conflicts, and life transitions. Her main approach in therapy is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). She is also certified
as an interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) provider by Teacher’s College, Columbia University and International Society of Interpersonal Psychotherapy (ISIPT).
She has worked with different cultures and populations, and is mindful and sensitive to cultural differences and diversity among individuals.
She believes that the key to successful psychotherapy is being listened to and understood, collaboratively conceptualizing the problem, setting clear goals, and choosing the right treatment
interventions to reach goals in a positive and trusting therapeutic alliance.
